The science

Er:YAG 2940 nm - the wavelength that matches water.

CellsRenew technology is an evolution of Erbium Er:YAG lasers. At 2940 nm, the wavelength sits exactly on a water absorption peak in human tissue - enabling rapid, controlled vaporization of the superficial epidermis with minimal collateral damage.

Targeted by chromophore

Different laser wavelengths are absorbed differently by tissue chromophores - water, melanin, hemoglobin and oxyhemoglobin. The Er:YAG curve peaks dramatically around 2940 nm in water, which is exactly what we want for precise, surface-level wound debridement.

  • Water peak ≈ 2940 nm
  • CO₂ at ~10,600 nm
  • Melanin in visible/NIR
  • Hemoglobin in visible

Two-stage clinical protocol

"We proceed in two stages: first we evaporate all the fibrin with the laser beam, then we apply the laser to the bottom and periphery of the wound - accelerating collagen fiber production responsible for healing." - Dr. Martin Mukisi Mukaza

1

Debridement

Evaporate fibrin and necrotic tissue with the Er:YAG beam. Removes necrotic debris, kills bacteria, comfortable for the patient, with no impact on viable healthy tissue.

2

Cellular stimulation

Apply the laser to the wound bed and periphery to accelerate the production of collagen fibers responsible for healing.
